Growing up between France and the United States, Visal was one of the very first returnees to move back to his parents’ homeland of Cambodia in 1993 after the civil war. Seeing Cambodia as a land of promise and opportunity, Visal found himself exploring and discovering everything Cambodia. From media and marketing to art, music and graffiti, Visal dabbled with as much as he could. In the last decade, Visal has excelled as executive creative director, to producer, musician and later, award winning film director. Through his nearly 25 year career in Cambodia and countless projects and collaborations, Visal has been fortunate to become one of Cambodia’s most respected and highly sought after progressive leaders in urban music, arts and film. He has championed a new school of thought that many have imitated but never duplicated.
